About Me
Hi!
My name is Djordje Radojcic. I was born on June 15. 1986. in town of Loznica, western Serbia . I've shown interest in art while I was still just a kid, and was among the best artists during my whole education. My favorite subject were cars. I have always known that I want to do some car related job (car design or something similar).
Another thing that directed my education are video games. In my parents shop was a console video playground and I spent lots of time there. Later, my parents bought all the equipment and they became the owners, while my brother and I were, through the part of elementary and high school, working there and helped them. Normally, I've played mostly car racing simulations and was practicly invincible and I'm pretty good nowdays too!
And then came the high school. Due to the fact that the nearest art high school was 50km away and my parents didn’t have the money to send me there, I had to satisfy with “standard” high school. There was no art classes in school I went to, but we had computer classes (unlike elementary school where we didn’t) and that was my first contact with computer. Couple of years later my uncle gave me his old computer (Pentium I 233Mhz, 64MB ram, 4MB graphics card).
First thing I did was to try Photoshop of which I've heard is great for photo manipulation and that you can "draw" in it. I've learned alone and have started to design cars in it very fast. Some time later I've started using AutoCAD and it lasted for about a year. Then I bought a new computer and not long after that decided to try working in 3d, so I installed 3d studio max. As before, I've learned it on my own, using only books and tutorials I could find on the internet. Soond 3D became my passion and I was impressed with computer arts and especially with visuall effects I could see in new movies.
During that time I have achieved my biggest success as amateur car designer. For two years in a row, two of my car designs were displayed on SAT stand at Belgrade car fair. By the way, SAT is Serbian TV car show, and it’s the reason I have got interested in cars and car design. It is the only show that calls everyone who does amateur car design to send their work to them. Then they choose the best and display them at their stand at Belgrade car fair. There is usually no more than 15 drawings and maybe as much handmade car models.
Shortly after that came the time to choose college or faculty I will go to. Maybe the hardest decision in my life, untill one day I saw Chiron trailer on TV. I was astonished! I just couldn’t believe that there is school about 3D animation in Serbia and that people from over here can make effects of such quality. The choice was obvious – Chiron (first certified Alias/Autodesk training center in continental Europe!) and I think it's my best decision in my whole life. I have learned from great lecturers and with great guys and went through all aspects of 3D.
After Chiron I realized that I lack that "artistic" part, so I decided to apply for a college. After about a month of preparations I did entry exam and I got accepted to Belgrade Polytechnic - product design and was on a list for budget (in other words I only pay for books and tools, not for lectures). I'm pretty much satisfied with everything, but I think my first year grade average of 9.75/10 speaks more about it.
That would be all from me. Thanks for visiting.
